“Very Blessed”

We cannot thank you enough for the amazing care you gave in the labor and delivery of our daughter. We feel very blessed to have had you there in the precious birth of our 4th-born, which has been our most memorable birth thanks to you. We thank God for you!

“It's a pleasure to work with Lisa!”

I have worked with Lisa on numerous occasions as a doula. I am always impressed by how well she cares for my clients through their labor and birth. She is extremely knowledgeable about the birth process and makes my clients feel empowered, strong, and in control of their births while monitoring mom and baby in a nonintrusive way in order to assure that birth is progressing in a normal, safe manner. It is always a pleasure to work with her and it is a comfort knowing that my clients will be receiving the best care possible during this sacred event.

“Excellent Care”

Thank you so much for the excellent care you provided in our prenatal visits and through labor. It really meant so much to me all that you did to help me through it. May God bless you and yours. May He continue to use you for this wonderful calling for many more years to come.

"Kept me calm and focused"

I loved Lisa! She was the midwife on call when I went into labor.  Though initially I was nervous, I had only just met her because of a quirk in the schedule, in the end I was so thankful that she was the midwife I got! She seemed to know instinctively what to say to keep me calm and focused. I found her voice to be very soothing. :) She was so sweet after and gave me her number and answered any questions I had about my newborn. I highly recommend her!!

"Wonderful Midwife"

Lisa is a wonderful midwife and even better person. She handled a large part of my prenatal care and I really feel such a strong connection to her. Additionally, she was so encouraging to me post-birth as well. She is kind, smart, and a fabulous midwife. Definitely recommend her!

"Care, Knowledge, and Love"

Lisa attended the birth's of both of our kids. She was our doula for our first birth and a student midwife at our second birth. I can't even begin to put into words how much her care, knowledge, and love positively impacted my births. Baby number one was a long 27 hour labor and my husband and I both agree that we couldn't have done it without her! Baby number two was a shorter birth, but more emotionally exhausting for me due to stressful situations outside of my prenatal care. Lisa was great and supported me through that journey!

“Changed my life forever!”

Lisa has changed my life forever, for the better. I'm grateful to call her my friend, my doula, and my midwife.

“One of the best decisions we made!”

I first met Lisa at a birth I was photographing for a dear friend. She left such a great impression on me that I immediately signed up for her Bradley Method class she was teaching when I was expecting my first daughter. My husband and I were constantly impressed by her calm and assuring personality and her willingness to help encourage us and answer any questions and concerns. We hired Lisa as our doula and it was one of the best decisions we made! I found out at 37 weeks that our baby was in the breech presentation and Lisa went above and beyond to help us change the position of our baby. She helped refer us to the best resources, set up appointments for us, found an inversion table for us to borrow, and even came over to our home multiple times to help us with exercises to try to turn my stubborn baby. Although she never turned and I delivered my baby via C-section, with Lisa I felt respected and confident in our birth story. She met us at the hospital before my surgery and was even allowed to come into the OR as another support person for the birth. Lisa walked an extra mile for us even though we didn't experience the natural birth we prepared for. I will forever be grateful for her and our experience.

“What an encouragement”

"There is something very intimate, sacred even, in the act of giving birth.  Giving birth in the company of a woman who knows, understands, and respects the body's natural ability to birth is a very special thing indeed.  Lisa Rutledge is such a woman.  From the moment I met Lisa, I saw she possessed a deep love for mamas and babies, a profound understanding of the process of birth, and the calm demeanor of seasoned, professional midwife.  Lisa guided, supported, encouraged and empowered me and my husband through the birth of our first child.  Despite a long labor, she never tired or ran out of ways to bring me comfort and help the labor progress.  In fact, the closer the actual birth came, the more Lisa came alive.  What an encouragement to a tired mama!  As well, Lisa's commitment to care did not end after our baby's arrival.  I experienced significant difficulties with breastfeeding in the following weeks and Lisa checked in with me multiple times, encouraging me, spending one on one time with me and my son, locating donor milk and soothing my mama's heart when breastfeeding did not work out.  She continues to encourage me in my journey as an exclusive pumper.  I cannot say it loudly enough, having Lisa attend me in birth was a privilege and a gift. I pray I'm lucky enough to have her skillful hands catch my future babies."

"Sweet and professional"

Lisa was the one who caught my youngest son while she worked assisting my midwife. Wonderfully sweet and professional lady she is.

"There is a secret in our culture, and it's not that birth is painful.
It's that women are strong".
